Jesus for President Tour

My friend over at BuffaloNickel and I are going to see Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw tonight for their Jesus for President tour. I’m getting really excited about seeing it. I’ve been reading the book and thoroughly enjoying it. It’s an easy, yet challenging, and convicting read. But good!
A couple of weeks ago I read this article about the tour on CNN. It did a good job enticing me to go see Shane and the crew when they stop by in Dallas.
I can’t wait to hear what Shane has in store for us tonight. I’m confident I’ll leave feeling challenged, inspired, and convicted all at the same time. Shane has an incredible way of doing that. If you’ve ever read Irresistible Revolution, or heard him speak at Catalyst, then you already know what I mean. Shane is living out what he’s teaching and it’s hard to argue with what he has to say. All you end up doing in the process is sounding like an old fashion Pharisee. I wish there was some “simple way” to live life like Shane and his friends live over at “The Simple Way,” but at some point each person just has to make a decision to lay down their greed and choose Jesus. If we could just loosen the tight grip we have on the almighty dollar, then maybe this world would be a better place to live.
