The Shack

I’m intrigued and my curiosity is up. I’ve had three people in the past few days ask me if I’ve read “The Shack.” My answer, “What’s The Shack?” The only Shack I know used to play for the Lakers, but that’s been years ago, and he’s changed teams a few times since then. I think! You can obviously tell I’m not a huge NBA basketball fan.
So, what’s the deal with this book? Obviously it has struck a chord with a few people. It’s the latest buzz in my church and everyone seems to be talking about it. We even had one of our classes discuss it last Sunday. Discuss it? I’ve not even heard of it. Am I just really out of touch right now, or did this little gem slip past me.
Today is your chance to clue me in. I’d love to hear from a few people who have read this book and I’d love to know why it’s causing such a stir with people I know. Let me know, is it really worth my time?
I, too, have heard about this book from many sources. I had been toying with the idea of reading it over our vacation. When I saw Pastor Scott’s blog about it a week or so before we left, it cemented my decision to read it. So, I read the book and I did like it. It had a decent story and was thought provoking for a fiction book. It’s an easy read. Give it a shot. Let’s see what you think.
Okay, I’ll add it to my list, but I’ve got to finish Jesus for President first.
I want to read that too. I think maybe I will pick up a copy tomorrow night.
